Industrial use
Industrial use is the preparation of the substance or formulation or their use or application.
The use has to comply with the laws of work protection (e.g. Directive 98/24 EG). The industrial use takes place in fixed or mobile facilities equipped with safety devices.
The industrial use is characterised by:
- Organisational measures to comply with work safety and environment. They exist were controlled.
An organisation exists and responsibilities for EH&S-are defined including and risk management.
Qualified and well trained work force is employed, which is continuously and systematically trained.
- Technical measures to reduce expositions exist, if necessary and were controlled
- Personal protection equipment is used if necessary and is controlled.
Professional Use
Professional use is the preparation of formulations ore the use of substances or preparations.
The use occurs under the laws of work protections (e.g. Directive 98/24/EG).
The professional use is characterised by:
- Organisational measures to comply with safety and environmental standards exist.
- An organisation exists and responsibilities for EH&S-are defined.
- Workforce is trained.
- Equipment related measures were applied.
- Personal protection equipment is used.
Private use
Private use is the non professional use of substances and formulations.
The persons included are a group from the population getting into contact with the substance or the formulation
- Personal protection equipment: Besides from e.g. gloves or goggles, requested in some cases for a specific application, the private user has normally no other protection measures or technical installations.

c) 2 days per year
